Putting Unity in Community

The Football For Good Leagues are the first national 5-a-side ‘social impact’ football leagues to use the power of football to enable anyone and everyone taking part to play a crucial and active role in helping to create positive social change throughout the UK.

Putting the local community at the centre of each of the Leagues established, the Football For Good Leagues will bring whole communities together, providing a fun, friendly and competitive sporting focus for everyone, all the while enabling League participants to help change the lives of others in their local community. Playing for Change.

FOOTBALL FOR GOOD NETWORK

The Football for Good Leagues firmly believes in the power of football to be used as a force for good and as such operates a unique ‘Football For Good’ Network. As the parent operator of the Leagues, the Street Soccer Foundation (Charity Number: 1189558) partners with Football Club Community Organisations (CCOs) nationwide. These are the registered charities and community arms of professional football clubs you will see listed against all available Leagues in areas across the country. These charities are members of our Football For Good Network so that communities surrounding each of our Football Club Community Organisations can benefit from weekly match fees from participating players week in, week out. Helping local people – on a national level. Together, Playing for Change.

USING FOOTBALL TO ACHIEVE POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT

By registering as an intended Team Captain to play and form a team, you and your teammates will become sponsors of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in your local community.

How? Your weekly match fees will be automatically invested through the partnership the Street Soccer Foundation (Football For Good Leagues Operator) has with the local Football Club Community Organisation (CCO) attached to your League.

Put simply: Every time you set foot on a pitch at a Football for Good League, you know you and your teammates are helping to support disadvantaged young people in your local community.

Playing for You. Playing for Others. Playing for Change.

The Football for Good Leagues: Playing For Change.
Phase 1 - Register Interest

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The Football for Good Leagues are adult 5-a-side ‘social impact’ football leagues and organised for the true benefit of community. Players must be aged 18 or above. Teams can be mixed and enter and play from all backgrounds and religions, encouraging social inclusion. Along with the obvious health and welfare benefits, by playing in a Football for Good League this is also your chance to give back and help vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in your local community.

We will initially operate 8-team Football for Good Leagues, with each team playing each other team twice over 14 consecutive weeks.

The Football for Good Leagues will be officiated by FFG League-appointed referees and supported by match supervisors at each venue.

Thank you for showing your support and signing up to the new national movement.

Football for Good Leagues FAQ's

If you are looking to register a new team into one of our Football For Good Leagues, firstly – thank you for your support. We’ve made it a really quick and easy process. You simply click HERE and select the League you would like to play in. It’s that simple. And there’s no entry fee for any of our Leagues. Once you’ve registered, we’ll then get back in touch with you to confirm your team name and place in the League.

Once you have registered to join a league, you as intended Team Captain will be responsible for recruiting your squad of 6-8 players. You do not need to register individual players with us as you can operate a flexible squad system during the season. Once your team is registered and confirmed, as Team Captain you will then be responsible for all of your players, including their conduct, and paying the weekly match fees in advance of all games.

To enter any Football For Good League is free and always will be. We know that most other league operators will charge an entry fee to join a league but we want to be as inclusive as possible and ensure anyone has the opportunity of playing for change. Each game will take place once a week and will cost £35 for the whole team, which is actively encouraged to be paid online through our website in advance. Alternatively, match fees can be paid on the day of your game – the Match Supervisor at the League will process your payment before your game kicks-off each week.

Nothing other than attend to your League venue in good time, having paid your match fees through the website. On arrival to your League venue, you should state you are there to play in the Football For Good League, and the Match Supervisor on the day should greet you to show you and your team to the relevant pitch area.

Yes, absolutely. All Football For Good Leagues are open for males and females and all-female teams as well as mixed teams are warmly welcome nationwide.

This depends on how many teams are in the Football For Good League you are participating in. Initially, all Leagues will operate with 8 teams meaning a season will last 14 weeks. We will operate rolling seasons meaning that after your current League season ends, a new one will commence shortly thereafter.

Generally, there will be between 8-12 teams in each League, but to begin with, all Leagues will operate with 8 teams.
